Social Science Data Collection and Training

We conduct focus groups, in-depth interviews, and surveys by mail, web, telephone, in-person, and mixed-modes

Research Collaboration

We work with academics, university administrators, nonprofits, and government agencies on a wide range of topics

Asking Better Questions

As research methodologists, our focus is on the small details that define quality data collection

The Survey Lab is a research center in the Public Health Sciences Department within the Biological Sciences Division.

We collect social scientific data and train students in data collection methods. We collaborate with academic researchers, nonprofit organizations, and university administrators in a variety of areas including childcare, health, hunger, sexuality, education and the arts.

We specialize in studies that require special attention to individual cases, often involving a mix of qualitative and quantitative components.

Why Give

Survey Lab donors give students and entry-level researchers access to up-to-date technology and unique training opportunities, such as conferences, webinars and short courses in survey and interview-based research. These opportunities, along with hands-on training in social sciences data collection, provide the practical experience that sparks research careers.
